"BURA VƏTƏNDİR!" — Javanshir Guliyev's creative evening

"BURA VƏTƏNDİR!" ("This Is My Homeland!") — the title of Javanshir Guliyev's creative evening — is the latest in a series of concerts celebrating the composer's 75th anniversary. With a musical language entirely his own, Guliyev has worked across virtually every genre, leaving an indelible mark on the musical memory of his people. Prepared by the creative ensemble of the Azerbaijan National Conservatory, the evening sets out to capture his artistry in all its breadth.

The programme brings together a rich selection of works: "7 Pieces in Mugham Scales for Prepared Piano" — long regarded as the composer's calling card — alongside the North Cyprus Suite for violin duo, a Sonatina for piano, and "İlğım" from the ballet "Kızılırmak" arranged for violin. Choral works feature prominently as well, among them the "Karabakh March" from the film "Fəryad," a choral arrangement of "Bir uçaydım" by Tarana Yusifova, and the world premiere of "Bayraqlar" ("Flags"). The evening concludes with beloved songs — "Sevəcəyəm," "Hər şey gözəldir həyatda," "Bura Vətəndir," "Əzizim, yarım gilə," "Qızım," and more — performed by leading figures of Azerbaijani popular music.
