Baku, 1914. In a city enriched by oil yet divided by wars and empires, a love story begins between Ali Khan Shirvanshir, a Muslim Azerbaijani, and Nino Kipiani, a Georgian Christian.
Their relationship becomes a reflection of the clash between East and West, tradition and freedom.
